Amber, Brittany, and Jennifer

It’s time for another “People of Dalton” story, and this one just happens to be three stories in one from identical triplets! Amber, Brittany, and Jennifer are Dalton natives like their parents, and while they’ve traveled the world, Dalton will always be where they choose to call home.

Amber is currently attending Dalton State College majoring in Organizational Leadership and is married to her high school sweetheart, Danny. They just welcomed their first child in December of 2021. “I have traveled around the world and studied abroad, but I chose to stay in Dalton because of my family. And if I’m being completely honest, you cannot find Oakwood Café’s chicken tenders anywhere else! Dalton has this wonderful effect of feeling like a friend you haven’t seen in years, and the moment you get together, it’s like no time has passed at all. My siblings and I grew up in Whitfield County and attended Southeast Whitfield County High School. Growing up, I loved being involved in the community; from volunteering with the Conasauga River Clean-Up, performing at the Artistic Civic Theater, and being involved with the creatives of Dalton, it helped shape me into who I am today. Dalton provided my family with a beautiful place to grow up, and now my husband and I are raising a family of our own. Dalton is my hometown, and it has been an absolute pleasure to see it ‘come back to life’ in recent years.”

Brittany is a teacher with Whitfield County Schools. She and her husband even spent 2 years in Sao Paulo, Brazil, but when they discussed where they would settle once they were back in the US, it always came back to Dalton. “Growing up as a student in Whitfield County Schools, its teachers provided many opportunities for me and upon graduating college, I knew that I wanted to serve my community. I wanted to give back to a community that offered so much to me which included meeting my now husband at a Raider Nation Food Drive in 2017! The Humane Society of NW Georgia is another organization close to my heart, and it is an honor to volunteer with them. I love the progress and transformation Dalton has made while still maintaining its unique heritage. I feel that Dalton is a place for everyone, no matter your background. This community is also built on a foundation of supporters. People are willing to help and jump in on causes that are for the betterment of the Greater Dalton area. I love that Dalton also offers prime locations for hiking, cycling, and walking. You will often find us trekking one of the many trails, picnicking at one of the parks or cycling the trails of Raisin Woods. I also love the Summer Concert Series and want to give a shout out to Buckin’ Burrito, Café Ostro, and The Pour!”

Jennifer is the Executive Director of the United Way of Gordon County, but she and her husband Brian who is also a Dalton native, choose to live here. “I am from Dalton, and I could not imagine calling anywhere else ‘home’. I could have attended college anywhere but chose to attend Dalton State College because it had everything I was looking for: small classroom sizes, a thriving English department, and a budding theater program. Plus, tuition was affordable! The United Way of Northwest Georgia took a chance on me after I graduated from DSC, and I credit the team at United Way for fostering my love for the nonprofit sector. My husband and I love the size of Dalton. It still has that small town vibe while also boasting some great restaurants and conveniences, and it’s close to Atlanta and Chattanooga if we are craving a more ‘urban experience’. We love to play pickleball at Brookwood Park where you can find us most weeknights, and we love Café Ostro, Cyra’s and Los Reyes! Even though my career has me working outside of Dalton, my husband and I truly love calling Dalton our home base.”
