“I moved to Dalton when I was 10 from Elgin, TX. My parents moved here in hopes of finding a better life for our family. One of the first places we lived was the Government Housing Authority on Beechland Circle where I’m pictured. These apartments and the program allowed my family to save up the money we needed to buy a home of our own. During my time at the Housing Authority I made lifelong friends and to this day we still say, ‘ALL the greats come from Beechland Circle!’ because we grew up to become police officers, lawyers, probation officers, and linemen, just to name a few of our careers.

While I did leave to attend college away from home for a while, I ultimately found myself coming back, and my time away reminded me of everything that makes Dalton special. It’s the people—the people that give to our community either financially or through giving their time to make our town better. I love seeing how Dalton is a blend of so many people from different walks of life and backgrounds, and I love seeing the leadership our community currently has. I’m excited about the younger generation that is ready to step up and lead, and I feel that Dalton will be in good hands for a long time to come.

While I may not have been born here, I don’t know any other way than the Dalton way of life. Dalton provided my family the opportunities through its schools, sports, and people to help get me to where I am today. So, it is an honor and privilege to serve my community as a law enforcement officer and through the non-profit organizations where I volunteer my time. I’m so thankful for the family, friends, mentors, teachers, and coaches that have helped me throughout the years. I hope to one day make every one of you proud!”
